　　定冠詞the，特指某人或某物

　　（1）+名詞

　　Please would you pass the salt.�！疽阎�的/特定的物或人】

　　請你把鹽遞給我

　　We spent all day at the beach.【某一類地方/場所】

　　我們在海灘上呆了一整天。

　　The panda is becoming an increasingly rare animal.【某類物或人】

　　熊貓這種動物數(shù)量越來越稀少了。

　　I really enjoyed the book I've just finished reading.【帶有后置定語的名詞前】

　　我真的很喜歡我剛讀完的那本書。

　　特殊情況：People whho drink and drive should go to prison.【零冠詞，表泛指】

　　the sun/earth/Eiffel Tower【獨一無二的物】

　　He was for many years the mayor of New York.【獨一無二的人】

　　他做了多年的紐約市長。

　　The Clintons are coming to visit this Sunday.【某夫婦或一家人】

　　克林頓一家周日要來看我們。

　　I'm going under the knife (= having a medical operation) next week.

　　【與名詞有關(guān)的活動】

　　我下周要接受外科手術(shù)。

　　Mary is learning to play the piano.【樂器或樂團前】

　　瑪麗在學(xué)彈鋼琴。

　　the Coldplay酷玩樂隊

　　在表示海洋、河流、湖泊、山脈、群島、某些國名、組織機構(gòu)、報紙雜志、比賽會議等名詞前

　　1）一般情況

　　the Atlantic大西洋

　　the Yellow River黃河

　　the Rhine萊茵河

　　the Himalayas喜馬拉雅山

　　the Cayman Islands開曼群島

　　the U.S.A美國

　　the United Nations聯(lián)合國

　　the Guadian衛(wèi)報

　　the Olympic Games奧運會

　　the Kyoto Protocol京都協(xié)定書

　　2）城市名稱前一般為零冠詞，除了the Hague

　　3）有Mount, Lake等表示孤山、獨島、湖泊等名詞前一般為零冠詞，中國湖泊卻常加定冠詞。

　　Mount Everest珠穆朗瑪峰

　　Lake Baikal貝加爾湖

　　Mount Halla漢拿山

　　Kagoshima（日本）鹿兒島

　　Coral Island（泰國）珊瑚島

　　the Poyang Lake鄱陽湖

　　the Dongting Lake洞庭湖
